Mini Christmas photos.

There's no better way to embrace the spirit of Christmas than by heading to a local Christmas tree farm. Galway Christmas trees in Athenry offer the perfect backdrop for your family photos, capturing the joy, warmth and magic of the season in a truly Irish setting.

Why choose a mini photo session?

Mini photo sessions are shorter, more affordable alternatives than traditional full-length sessions, making them perfect for busy families. Your family photographer will capture a handful of images without overwhelming little ones with long shoots. Sessions last 30 minutes.

What makes mini sessions at Galway Christmas Trees so special is the combination of professional photography and a magical setting. The fresh pine scent and rows of evergreens are a unique and natural backdrop for your Christmas photos.

Tips for getting the most out of your Family photo session

  1. PLAN YOUR OUTFITS:

Coordinating outfits can elevate your photos. Consider complementing colours and textures - cosy knits and hats in natural tones or festive colours. Bring layers for kids so they don't get cold, and boots are a must as the ground can be wet.

  1. Bring snacks:

Having water and snacks for small kids can be handy. The farm is 10 minutes outside Athenry, and they will get hungry with all the running around.

  1. Timing

Pick a time that works around your toddler's naps. Kids will not want to get photos taken if they are tired.

Where to find Galway Christmas Trees

It is a family-owned farm known for its high-quality trees and friendly service. They have three different types of trees, with heights starting at 6ft and up.

Growing up, we always had an artificial tree, but my granny had a real one, and I will never forget the smell or the needles all over the floor! Now they have none- shedding ones.

When this farm was recommended to me, I couldn't wait to go. It's now a tradition that we go on the day of the toy show to pick our perfect tree. The kids love wandering through the rows of different trees in search of the one. They give you a ribbon to put on the tree you want. The kids can help cut it down, and they take it to your car, all wrapped up safely for the journey home.

Be sure to check the opening hours before you go. Depending on the weekend, you might need to book.
