Newborn or older baby?
It's Probably one of my most frequently asked questions, especially if you are a first -time mom and don't know what to expect.
Newborn photos are best taken within the first two weeks of your baby's arrival. They will be so content and sleepy that we can move them around without them waking up, which is excellent if you have toddlers. It's a lovely time to do it as it goes so fast, and they won't be this small for long.
Even tho they will be sleepy, you will still get some of them awake ( my favourite)
If you don't fancy being in front of a camera so soon, wait to take the photos until your baby is 4-6 weeks old. They will be full of smiles and more engaged with you all. They will also be hungrier and more awake, so it might not be the best time if you have a toddler.
What if my baby comes early?
If your baby comes 3+ weeks early, they will be extra sleepy! So I would still go from your original booking date. There is no need to bring it forward.
If your baby comes 1-2 weeks early, then I would possibly bring it forward a week.
Twins
I recommend photographing twins or multiables within the first two weeks. It's best to have them all asleep so they won't hit off and wake their brother and sister up! If you are unable to make it at this time, then I would wait until 12 weeks - Even six months or when they are sitting.
These are just guidelines. Every baby and family are different. If you are still unsure when would be the right time for you, get in touch, and we can find a suitable date.
